Advocacy

What can we do?

Advocacy is the process we use to influence the decisions made by political, economic and social institutions. We work to help draft public policy and laws that represent our Values, Mission and Purpose.

Lobbying is one of the processes we use as it allows us direct access to legislators on key issues that will impact us. We might also use Social Media to reach people to tell them about a specific piece of legislation that might effect them in an adverse way.

Our goal is to have our voice heard regarding matters that are important to us. We want to defend and protect our rights and be a part of the broader decision making process. Western Montana Chapter of Safari Club International wants to help lead the way towards a better future where we can have our views and concerns heard.

Safari Club International, our parent organization, leads by actively fighting to protect our right to hunt here in the US and Internationally. SCI has offices in Washington, D.C. where they are dedicated to giving our voice to policy and legislation.

SCI also uses the courts to litigate on behalf of Hunting and Conservation. Working with Wildlife Management Agencies we are making progress.

Here in Montana, Senator Steve Daines helped pass the Great American Outdoors Act which was perhaps one of the largest pro-conservation acts in years. We truly appreciate the work Steve has done and value his contribution to a better future for all of us.
